David J. Smith
David J. Smith is a Special Assistant to the Combatant Commander and Speechwriter for United States Southern Command. He also serves in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a Judge Advocate and Civil Affairs Officer. Previously, Smith worked in private practice and as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and LL.M. from the University of Miami and Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
